Vabret, Bellier Chasse and others who were stationed at what was known as St. Gabriel&#8217;s college.  They were members of the <em>Eudist<\/em> Fathers, also known as the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240419121722\/http:\/\/faculty.marianopolis.edu\/c.belanger\/quebechistory\/encyclopedia\/EudistFathers.htm\">Congregation of Jesus and Mary<\/a> Some stayed on and become priests of the diocese and others drifted, either back to France or to New Orleans.<\/p>\n<p>Also note the presence of <a href=\"http:\/\/archives.nd.edu\/episodes\/sorin\/sorinx.htm\">Fr.
