Rocco Palmo, the blogger of the popular “Whispers in the Loggia” which gives a lot of insight into the workings and politics of the Church, wrote a column recently about the upcoming U.S. Bishop’s Conference being held in Baltimore.
His post, entitled “The Church At Home In America” sums up the great history of our Catholic faith in the United States. The web site you are reading right now, Indiana Catholic History, uses the phrase “Keeping the memory alive of those who have gone before us”. Palmo says:
God love the folks who came before us. They made so much possible… so much that, maybe, more than just sometimes, we seem to take it for granted.
He is so right! We forget many times how so few carried on the tradition in our Indiana. Palmo’s article is worth reading, and reading again. Here is a link to the article.
