The Indiana Historical Society’s bi-monthly publication, Perspectives had an article in the latest issue (July-August 2008: Volume-15, Number-4) about their effort to conserve Saint Mother Theodore’s handwritten diaries.
The Sisters of Providence asked the Society to see what they could do to help conserve the documents. Apparently there are tears throughout the document which has prevented some of the words to be read. The Society intends to also digitize them so that the Sisters cannot only view the original document without damaging it, but also so they can translate them from the original French.
Once the digitization takes place the document will be placed online, not only at the Sisters of Providence website, but also on the which is a conservation group made up of various organizations in the area, including the Sisters of Providence Wabash Valley Visions, Indiana State University etc.
